by Mary Brown

On Sunday, October 26th twenty-five TIHAA members and friends (Tom & Cindy Croissant, Joyce Slanina,Tom & Femina Sutter, Roger & Sandra Coughran, Bea Moreno & her friends

Martha Ramirez & Mary Sister, DeAnn Thomas, Diane Murray, Sarah Harvey, Della DuHart & her friends Shirley Tezano & Versie Smith, Gurrette Roep, Mary Brown &her friends: Sylvia Cruz, Rosalie Bell, Hilda Rivera, Mildred Grahmann, Linda Matteson, Josie Farek & Nancy Pulido) took a trip aboard the M/V Sam Houston to explore the Houston Ship Channel.

Before the adventure began we lunched at Fiesta Loma Linda Restaurant in the East End of Houston.

After the light lunch we all enjoyed the leisurely cruise on the channel. They gave us the history of the building of the Houston Ship Channel along with the industries that keep the channel viable today. On the return trip they offered everyone a soft drink or water. It was a gorgeous day. If you have not taken this trip I suggest that you look into it. It is one that is great for yourself, your children or even your grandchildren. Best of all it is FREE!

If you would like to go on a day trip please check the TIHAA website (www.tihaa.org).
