The Fun Country Band.

The 2011 annual TI Retirees BBQ Evening was held on September 29th in the TI Stafford Cafeteria with 212 Retirees and their guests attending. This special night is co-sponsored every year by the Hou-Texins Association (HTA) and labored by the TI Retiree Club (TIRET), for all the TI Retirees in the area. It is truly worth the effort as all of us do enjoy the food and festivities as one group together.

Chef Jonathon Hernandez and his team started things off with a full BBQ dinner served buffet style and everyone had all they could handle with left overs to boot!

Plenty of good desserts too!

Sang Chong, C2000 Department's Marketing Manager welcomed everyone on behalf of TI Stafford's combined management, and told us a bit about the target markets they were chasing. He also mentioned that last year was a multi record one in Total TI sales, profits, and employee profit sharing.

Entertainment was by the Fun Country Band who provided background music for the dinner portion, and they then presented a full program of popular music and song enjoyed by all.

Membership, dues & Day Trips anyone?

Our TIRET President, Lucy Salas, spoke to the audience on the benefits of Club membership, then presided over the drawing and awarding of Door Prizes from neighborhood Restaurants. Charles Sumrall, past TIRET president, won the grand prize of a $50 restaurant gift certificate. The beautiful table decoration centerpieces were raffled off to a lucky attendee at each table.. Before she dismissed the group, some sixteen new members were signed up, enhancing our ranks well.

Yes, it was a memorable evening: meeting old friends again plus making new ones, and a really fun time TOGETHER!
