Museum of Fine Arts Houston - March 24, 2011

Since we didn't get a Harris County bus for the 1st Quarter of 2011, our enthusiastic Day Trip Coordinator, Jeanne Brandt, has been working hard to line up Drive-Yourself outings for these months without a bus. Jeanne organized a Drive-Yourself last month to the movies. This month she decided that the exibition currently on display at the Museum of Fine Art in Houston would make for a nice day.

Our tour of The Museum of Fine Arts Impressionist collection was marvelous. The paintings are indeed "Masterpieces". This group of 50 art works are on loan from the National Museum in Washington, D.C. We were able to enjoy each painting at our leisure and absorb the beauty of our favorites. We had the privilege of seeing the works of such artists as: Degas van Gogh, Cezanne, Monet, Cassatt, Renoir and Manet.

We then went to Cleburne Cafeteria where we chose from a huge selection of very appealing foods.

Those in attendance were: Lucy Salas, Bob and Marian Gruber, Howard and Mary Lee Cameron, Tony and Susan Leigh, Brenda Moss, Ralph and Estella Garcia, Jeanne Brandt and guest, Aurise Bain.

Join us soon on another exciting Day Trip.
